Michelle Carter recently received an email from a young Russian woman who’s a student at Berkeley. She had just read Michelle's book, From Under the Russian Snow. Michelle asked her how she found the book. The young woman said she was in the Strand Bookstore in New York City last week and From Under the Russian Snow was on a display of books on Russia and had a sign, Recommended by Staff. As Michelle put it, this made her day.

If you read a book and love it, find a way of letting an author know, either through social media or through email. It not only makes their day, it lets them know that readers truly enjoy their books.
