Milagros Silva (pseudonym) was born in Venezuela of Spanish/Venezuelan parents, and raised in Europe (England and Spain) where she completed a BSc in Psychology and an MA in Anthropology from the University of London (Goldsmiths College); later on, she obtained an MLS in Women’s Studies in the USA. Her work commitments, passion for travel and seeing different cultures has taken her to many countries across several continents: Africa, North and South America, and Europe. It is from those travels and working experiences that she has gained insight and material for her stories.
She published her first story, "Cuando La Mujer se Resuelve," (Spain) in 2008. She has also published an anthology of short stories She Stole My Heart and Other Stories, (Bedazzled), and in 2012 won the Short Story Competition with a short story entitled "When Passing Matters" (TESL Ontario). In 2013, Bedazzled Ink accepted to publish a non-fiction book entitled The Faces of Feminism. This was published under her real name, Maria M. Bermudez. Currently, she resides in Windsor, Canada, with her spouse. |
