What seventeen-year-old Adrielle Maddox, an Albino, wants most in life is to fit in. It's the eve of her birthday and Coco, her sister, gives her a broken watch that their mother, who had died in a suspicious fire, had wanted to have on her eighteenth birthday.
Coco drags her to a party and joins their friends Liz, Dave, Kate, and Veda. While looking for her boyfriend, Adrielle encounters Domenikos, an ancient immortal, who has traveled through time to possess Adrielle's watch.
Seconds before midnight, Adrielle’s broken watch starts to tick and earsplitting gongs shake the room. Domenikos slashes her boyfriend's throat and vanishes. Then Monika, an old woman with a diamond scepter, appears and hands Adrielle a mysterious journal. Adrielle flips through its pages, is hit by a rush of memories, and remembers the watch is a unique time-travelling device.
With a pounding of her scepter, Monika ignites Adrielle, along with her besties and historical personalities like Michelangelo and Da Vinci, on a time-shifting journey to uncover Adrielle's hidden talents and purpose.
Even with Monika's warning about time travel paradox, Adrielle is determined to travel back in time as a spunky warrior locked in a high-stakes, intellectual cat-and-mouse game with her nemesis, Domenikos.
