Stephanie Cowell has been an opera singer, balladeer, and founder of Strawberry Opera and other arts venues, including a Renaissance festival and an outdoor music and dance series in New York City. She is the author of Nicholas Cooke: Actor, Soldier, Physician, Priest; The Physician of London; The Players: A Novel of the Young Shakespeare; Marrying Mozart; Claude & Camille: A Novel of Monet, and The Boy in the Rain, a love story of two young men in Edwardian England. Her work has been translated into nine languages and adapted into an opera. Stephanie is the recipient of an American Book Award. She lives in New York City and has two grown sons and grandchildren. She loves opera and early music, Europe, theater (and of course, Shakespeare), mountains, the sea, and especially being with friends.
