“Once there was a big Jewish Temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, where a great miracle happened,” Sabi explains.
“What was the miracle?” Miri asks. Miracles can happen when you least expect them. Miri is excited that her grandfather, Sabi, as she calls him, is visiting all the way from Jerusalem for Hanukkah. They love playing music together—he on the accordion, and she on her drums of pots and pans. Miri is captivated by Sabi teaching her about the miracle of Hanukkah and how to count the candles on the menorah in Hebrew. Her parents are so pleased, they offer to buy her a drum set as a Hanukkah present. Miri and Sabi's trip to the mall to pick out the new drum set goes awry when Sabi can't remember where he parked his car.
