Karen Finch is a multidisciplinary arts practitioner. A classically trained alto, she spent thirty years singing opera, jazz classics, and Jewish liturgical music professionally. She holds a degree in visual art, and a master’s in art history and curatorial studies. Her artwork is held in numerous public and private collections across Australia and internationally. Karen’s writing stems from her academic studies and began with coverage of the Australian arts and crafts scene, and also two chapters in the 2010 work, It’s No Secret: Real Men Wear Aprons, the first major book about Freemasonry in Australia. She works as a ghostwriter for businesses, and more recently has been exploring creative nonfiction and memoir. Born in Sydney, Australia, she has moved around the country, and is now settled in Melbourne, Victoria, with her partner and two Siamese cats.
