Amy Baruch writes from Boise, Idaho. She was born in Brooklyn, grew up in the suburbs of Long Island, and attended college at Bryn Mawr. The entirety of her medical training was at SUNY Stony Brook. Seduced by the big skies, mountains, and rivers of Idaho, she has been practicing emergency medicine in Boise for twenty-six years. She will remain in her house on Villa Norte Street, with its too many stairs and a beautiful view of the Boise foothills, for as long as her heart and legs will allow. The proud mother of Michelle, Amy is grateful for her many wonderful friends, and her family who remains on the East Coast.
